This safari itinerary takes you to Amboseli National Park at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. Here spend 2 days as you observe the large herds of elephants that descend from the slopes of the mountain in the morning hours and spend most of the day in the swamp feeding and cooling from the heat of the day alongside buffalo and hippo. Also to be viewed are other plains game like the resident wildebeest, zebra, maasai giraffe among others and occasionally lion and cheetah.
You travel Lake Nakuru on day 3. This is a Rift Valley soda lake that lies in the southern region of Nakuru. It is under the protection of Lake Nakuru National Park. So well maintained, it is a major tourist attraction of Kenya. It is also known as a birdwatcher’s paradise as you will find hundreds of Flamingos and white Pelicans here. Large numbers come to the place because of the abundance of algae in the lake. Other beautiful birds, warthogs, white rhinos and baboons,zebra and many other African wildlife can also be seen near the lake. If you are fortunate enough then you might spot the Black Rhino and the big cats.
You spend 2 days in Maasai Mara, Kenya’s most popular game reserve where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant. Game drives are flexible, with the option of going out with picnic lunch boxes to spend entire day in the park or you can choose to have early morning and late afternoon game drives or morning half day then late afternoon game drive. You will also have the option of visiting a local Maasai village.
