Safari overview

This safari itinerary takes you to Amboseli National Park at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. Here spend 2 days as you observe the large herds of elephants that descend from the slopes of the mountain in the morning hours and spend most of the day in the swamp feeding and cooling from the heat of the day alongside buffalo and hippo. Also to be viewed are other plains game like the resident wildebeest, zebra, maasai giraffe among others and occasionally lion and cheetah.

You travel Lake Nakuru on day 3. This is a Rift Valley soda lake that lies in the southern region of Nakuru. It  is under the protection of Lake Nakuru National Park. So well maintained, it is a major tourist attraction of Kenya. It is also known as a birdwatcher’s paradise as you will find hundreds of Flamingos and white Pelicans here. Large numbers come to the place because of the abundance of algae in the lake. Other beautiful birds, warthogs, white rhinos and baboons,zebra and many other African wildlife can also be seen near the lake.  If you are fortunate enough then you might spot the Black Rhino and the big cats.

You spend 2 days in Maasai Mara, Kenya’s most popular game reserve where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant. Game drives are flexible, with the option of going out with picnic lunch boxes to spend entire day in the park or you can choose to have early morning and late afternoon game drives or morning half day then late afternoon game drive. You will also have the option of visiting a local Maasai village.


DAY 1: Nairobi - Amboseli

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or airport and drive to Amboseli National Park which is famous for its scenery with a backdrop of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, which dominates the landscape, and the open plains. Arriving with a short game drive at the park,check in, have lunch and a short rest . Afternoon game drive in the park. Dinner and overnight at your booked camp or lodge.

DAY 2: Amboseli

Early morning game drive return back to camp for breakfast . Full day spend in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents like the well known predators and other game like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Hippo with a beautiful view of Mt Kilimanjaro . Return to your camp for dinner and overnight at the camp/lodge.

DAY 3: Amboseli - Lake Nakuru

Early breakfast at your lodge then leave Amboseli for Nakuru arriving in time for lunch and check in at the camp or lodge, have lunch and relax. Later an afternoon game drive to see the Flamingo and a variety of wildlife not forgetting the famous white and black rhino found in this park. Dinner and overnight at the camp or lodge.

DAY 4: Lake Nakuru - Maasai Mara

Early morning breakfast then depart Lake Nakuru for Maasai Mara arriving in time for lunch. Check in at the camp or lodge and have lunch. Afternoon game drive through the park in search of the Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Buffalo and other wildlife. Dinner and overnight at the camp or lodge.

DAY 5: Maasai Mara

Early morning game drive game drive return to the lodge for breakfast after. Full day spend in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents like the well known predators and other game like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Hippo and the Crocodiles at the Mara river. Meals and overnight at the camp or lodge.

DAY 6: Maasai Mara - Nairobi

Early Morning breakfast at the camp or lodge check out and drive to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch. Lunch at the Carnivore and afterwards drop off at your respective hotel or airport.

On booking and confirmation the following will apply for the itinerary.

• Price calculation is subject to the availability of space in the accommodations listed or their equivalent.
• Price is per person sharing double, twin/triple room/tent.
• Single- Supplement per person shall apply where necessary.
• Child price 3 – 17 years is 50%.
• Mode of transport; Safari van. Safari jeep available on request.
• Price is for the number of days in itinerary only.
• Meal Plan as per above package itinerary.
• Park Entrance Fees, Accommodation as per itinerary, transport and game drives.
• All Government taxes and levies.
• Drive in a Safari van with English/French speaking Tour driver/guide.
Itinerary Excludes:
• International air transport.
• Visa fees (currently US$50 per passport holder for Kenya. Tanzania visa fee ranges from US$50 to US$200 depending on the nationality).
International departure tax of US$40 per person in Kenya and US$30 in Tanzania unless included in international air ticket.
• Travel insurance.
• Tips to hotel/lodge staff (budget approximately US$2 – US$4 per person per day),
• Gratuity to tour driver/guide (Guideline US$5 upwards to 10$ per person per day.
• Tips and gratuity are not a must.
• All items of a personal nature such as laundry and drinks.
• Extras such as Maasai village fees, Boat ride, Nature walk, tips etc.
– Prices only apply if a safari takes place and is completed within the specified price periods. Specific prices will be provided for any safaris or services that extend into next price period.
– Accommodation is subject to availability and similar lodges or camps will be suggested as replacement.
– Safari is for a minimum of 2 people. Solo Traveler, Solo Traveler with 1 or 2 Child/Children has to request for price/availability.
– All quotes are subject to availability and change due to: airfare increases, hotel rate increases, currency exchange fluctuations and any other unforeseen circumstances, without prior notice.
