Our Ambomara Special  holiday safari spends 2 nights in the Maasai Mara with lots of included game activity – so if you time it for the second half of the year from July through to October you could well see the migration in the Mara. Mara Wilderness Trail tour flies between the Maasai Mara and the Serengeti as well as exploring lots of other great national parks in the region. Tanzania Highlights safari focuses on some of Tanzania’s best national parks including the migration in the Serengeti at the right time of year.

This safari itinerary covers; Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Amboseli National Park. A wildlife adventure safari to Kenya and Tanzania’s most popular, exotic and finest wildlife Areas. Maasai Mara Game Reserve and Serengeti National Park; are popularly termed as the Jewel Parks of Kenya and Tanzania and home to different kinds of African wildlife including the Big Five. Spend 2 days viewing wildlife in Maasai Mara Game reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. You have a chance to see the “BIG FIVE”: Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard. Wildebeest, Zebra, Cheetah and Gazelle, other kinds of African wildlife can also be easily observed. Witness the famous wildebeest (Gnu) and zebra migration from Serengeti (Tanzania) to Maasai Mara (Kenya) between July and September; this movement is one of the wonders of the world. Maasai Mara, jewel park of Kenya is the stomping ground of the Great Migration, where a massive accumulation of 1.5 million wildebeest, 250,000 zebras and 350,000 gazelles stretch their legs over 1,200 miles in an annual race to find enough water and green grass for their survival.You also visit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area well known for game drives at the floor of the crater. Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara

You will be picked by our driver/guide from your Nairobi hotel and immediately depart for Maasai Mara to arrive just before lunch time. Have lunch relax by the pool area. Afternoon game drive is at 4p.m.

Day 2: Maasai Mara – Full day

Spend this day with game drives in search of the big five and many other wildlife that inhabits these beautiful savannah plains. There will be picnic lunch on both of the days. You also have an option of doing morning and afternoon game drives and relaxing in between .

Optional activities: Hot air balloon, a visit to Maasai village & guided nature walks.

Day 3: Maasai Mara – Serengeti

Have breakfast then depart for Serengeti passing through Isebania border. Carry packed lunch with you from the lodge because you will arrive at the park past lunch hour. Have a game drive as you enter the park and later drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 & 5: Serengeti – Full day

Spend these 2 days with game drives within the Great Serengeti. Serengeti is the home to Africa’s Big Five. There will be picnic lunch on both of the days.

Day 6: Serengeti - Ngorongoro

After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Crater passing through Olduvai Gorge. Enjoy an introductory game drive as you arrive at the crater and head to the lodge. There will be no other game drive so spend the remaining hours at leisure enjoying a walk around the surrounding areas and exploring the lodge’s facilities.

Ngorongoro is quiet unique as its physical protection from man and its natural beauty ranks it among the most pristine wildernesses on the earth. It has been also declared a world heritage site and is the largest intact crater in the world.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater – Full day

After breakfast, check out of the lodge with packed picnic lunch and depart for a tour of the crater floor, which is home to numerous plains game and the big five. Spend the day within the crater and have lunch at one of the famous picnic spots in the park. In the evening you will return to the lodge which is strategically perched on the rim of the collapsed volcano, with the most magnificent views of the crater floor.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater - Amboseli (via Namanga)

After breakfast at the hotel depart with picnic lunch boxes to the Namanga border. Clear customs and immigration formalities then join our Kenya tour driver guide and proceed to Amboseli. Once you arrive at the park, you will enjoy a game drive as you head to the lodge. Look out for large herds of elephants, lions, gazelles and the magnificent view of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Day 9: Amboseli – Full day

Spend the whole morning doing a game drive after breakfast till lunch time. Return to the lodge for lunch at 1300 hours. Relax by the pool after lunch. Afternoon game drive is at 4pm until dusk.

Day 10: Amboseli - Nairobi

Have breakfast then depart for Nairobi. Nairobi is 4 hours away. Upon arrival, you will have lunch at Carnivore Restaurant. After lunch, last minute shopping for souvenirs and other articles. Later be dropped at your hotel or airport.
